Thomas Boyd MD
Dr Thomas Boyd has been in private practice of Hematology and Medical Oncology in Yakima since 1985, and has been with North Star Lodge since January of 2005 following the merger of Yakima Regional Cancer Care Center and Memorial Hospital's North Star Lodge.
A graduate of Southwestern University of Texas Medical School, Dr. Boyd completed his Internal Medicine residency at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center and VAH, followed by a Fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Following his desire to be involved in on-going cancer research, Dr. Boyd has been the Principal Investigator for the "STAR" Study, a breast cancer study of Tamoxifen and Raloxifene, since 1998.
His years as a dedicated oncology practitioner continue to keep him at the forefront of cancer treatment as a Board Member of the Washington State Medical Oncology Society from 1996 to the present, and he served as President of the Washington State Medical Oncology Society from 2002 through 2003.
An outdoor enthusiast, Dr. Boyd enjoys all outdoor sports and in particular, kayaking. |
